Start with the parts of the day you want photographed. A shorter booking may suit your ceremony, couple portraits and part of the reception. Preparations, dinner and the party require more coverage. List your key moments and travel between locations so we can choose the right duration. My collections offer 4, 8 or 12 hours; the same number of hours will not fit every wedding.

You do not need to rehearse poses. I guide your posture, movement and use of light. Before the wedding we discuss the images you like and where portraits fit into your day. A walk, a quiet setting and time together create a different feel from a carefully staged photograph. The wedding stories show these different approaches.

Give portraits their own place in the schedule rather than squeezing them between appointments. Light, location, travel and time with your guests all matter. A distant photo location takes time even if the shoot itself is short. We discuss whether one session or a few shorter moments will work better for your day.

Make a list of the combinations that matter to you. Someone who knows your guests can help gather people. Choose a meeting point and a place in the schedule so relatives do not need to be found individually. Planned group photographs and spontaneous moments with family serve different purposes; there is room for both.

Plan an alternative that does not depend on dry weather, such as a bright indoor room or a covered area at your venue. Check access and photography permissions in advance. Depending on conditions, portraits may move indoors or use a short break in the rain. The practical options depend on your venue and schedule.

Documentary coverage records what unfolds: the ceremony, reactions, embraces and conversations. For editorial portraits I give more direction to light, composition and posture. That does not mean staging your entire wedding. The two approaches complement each other: natural memories of your day and thoughtfully composed portraits of you together.

Colour and exposure editing give the selected photographs a consistent look. More detailed retouching works on particular elements within an image. My collections distinguish edited photographs from professionally retouched highlights. We discuss the style and scope before booking; reference images help us understand your preferences.
